I have carved both fresh and salt water fish. I try to carve the general look of the different species while using the natural beauty of the wood's color and it's grain where I can. I do paint some of the fish when the coloring is required to denote a specific species.
These are my favorite types of carving. You are not limited by size or shapes. I enjoy searching for logs and driftwood with natural shapes that inspire my carving. I like using the grain of the wood to emphasize features and shapes .
My walking sticks and canes are owned by collectors and work well for daily use. They are made from natural tree limbs, some drift woods and turned lumber. Using such woods as Oak, Walnut, Diamond Willow, Cherry, Sassafras and many others.
Wooded belt buckles look great and are much lighter than the metal ones. The ones I carve fit wide or western style belts. I have used Walnut, Mahogany, and Ebony. Each is unique and one of a kind because no two pieces of wood are the same.
A Cypress knee is part of the root system of the Cypress tree. No two are the same. They look great natural and painted.
Please note that I work mostly by orders and the work seen here is representative
